Dystonia Causes
The disorder may be hereditary or caused by other factors such as birth-related or other
physical trauma, infection, poisoning (e.g. lead poisoning) or reaction or pharmaceutical
drugs, particularly neuroleptics.

Some of these known causes of dystonia include: antipsychotic drugs, anticonvulsant
drugs, trauma, Wilson’s disease (high level of copper in kidneys), birth injury, stroke,
brain tumor and numerous others.

It is important to know the cause of one’s disease; however, more important is the
treatment to find relief. You can read the dystonia treatment section of this site to learn
about possible options.  I personally found relief and alleviated my focal eyelid dystonia
symptoms by consuming a natural whole food that supported my body nutritionally.
If you're interested in learning more, please call me at (410) 486-2525
