Cervical Dystonia - Spasmodic Torticollis
Dystonia is a neurological disorder that is evidenced by involuntary and uncontrolled muscular contractions. Cervical dystonia and Spasmodic Torticollis are of the family of dystonias that affect the neck muscles causing the head to rotate to one side, to pull the chest downwards, or back, or a combination of these postures.

Over 25 years ago, I began having symptoms of focal eyelid dystonia, which affects the eyelids and includes excessive blinking. It took two years until I found a doctor who diagnosed it properly and suggested I see a neurologist. The neurologist told me the treatment of choice was injections of Botox into the eyelids. I had it done twice and stopped. It had affected my eyes and the side of my face and thereby changed my smile.
