Meige Syndrome, Ormomandibular
and Blepharospasm

Ormomandibular, blepharospasm and meige syndrome are all categorized as dystonias.
Dystonia is the neurological disorder related to uncontrolled and involuntary muscular contractions affecting different parts of the body.

Meige Syndrome is a dystonia of unknown cause that is sometimes referred to as cranial dystonia or ormandibular dystonia. It may involve muscle spasms around the eyes, lower face, mouth, tongue, throat, neck and sometimes the respiratory system, any one of which may affect the voice.

Over 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with focal eyelid dystonia, also called blepharospasm.  My symptoms included excessive eyelid twitching. This happens because there is misfiring of neurons within the central nervous system which causes chronic, unremitting, bilateral (both eyes), forcible closure of the eyelids.  This problem eminates from the motor control
center of the brain called the Basal Ganglia.

Blepharospasm is another name for focal eyelid dystonia.  Blepharo comes from the Greek word for eyelid.  Spasm means "involuntary, forceful eyelid contraction of muscles", or in this case, the eye muscles. The treatment of choice is injections. This serves to paralyze the eye muscles and provide relief for the patient. I had this done twice, within a six week period. During this time my eyes and the side of my face were affected and thereby changed my smile, so I stopped it.

Later I found a natural whole food that nourished my brain and body and significantly alleviated my symptoms within six weeks. If this nutritional program helped me, maybe it could help you.
