FOCAL DYSTONIA

Focal dystonia is a neurological condition affecting a muscle or group of muscles in a specific part of the body causing an undesirable muscular contraction or twisting. Many people with focal dystonia have continuous pain, cramping and relentless muscle spasms due to involuntary muscle movements. Other motor symptoms are possible, including lip smacking.

There are dystonias affecting the eyes, lower jaw, arms, hands, legs and neck. Some people even have more than one part of the body affected which makes relief that much harder.

Forms of Focal Dystonia
  • Cervical (spasmodic torticollis)  - Involuntary spasms resulting in abnormal pulling of neck muscles.
  • Cranial - combination of Blepharospasm and Meige Syndrome (ormandibular dystonia).
  • Laryngeal - spasmodic dysphonia  - Involuntary spasms in thelarynx area causing a tight, strained voice or breathy, whispering voice.
  • Oromandubular - (Meige Syndrome) - Involuntary muscle spasmsof the lower face and jaw and possibly tongue protrusion.
  • Focal Hand Dystonia - (writer's cramp)

Over 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with a focal eyelid dystonia (also called Blepharospasm), which affects the eyes. Twice I tried the common treatment option, eye injections.  These treatments affected my eyes and the side of my face and created for me an artificial smile. Later I found out about a whole food and nutritional supplement program that nourished my brain and body.  Within six weeks, my symptoms dramatically diminished.  Maybe since this nutritional program helped me, it could help you.

Please be advised that I am not a doctor nor do I have a cure. I do have a naturally organic whole food supplement that helped me over 21 years ago and continues to help me because my body still requires it. I believe this program may offer those who participate an improved quality of life.
